this isn't a post, it's a poem i wrote that i'm submitting to creative writing class. jeremy huggins inspired it a little bit-- i got stealing away being transitive from him, but the flesh came from me.

That day, fairy tales began with, “once
upon a time in a far far … land,” and
people, on some bright mornings, simply flew.
And he, like tent-folding Arabs, silently
stole away.

Away is odd to miss, since here is
always now, but small things disappearing
show its absence. The sink strainer
is always full now, the music always turned
down; the sheets are half as wrinkled, the
bathroom twice as clean. My tears come a
little more often; I cook a little bit less. The
bookshelves are tidy now, but my desk is
a mess. The mail always disappoints, and my
sighs are deeper and longer.

And I wish he would give away
back and come kiss my paper cuts and
beg forgiveness for his larceny. For
missing away is lonely work.
So please, return away.
do you like it?

well, all my classes haven't really met yet, so i can't write about them, and i'm kinda tired and thinking about reading pablo neruda... and i need to figure out my work schedule, too...

my computer situation is somewhat weird--my computer works but it doesn't stay near a phone line so i have to move it to be on the internet...anyways, it'll take me a little while to get back into blogging mode after having taken a break for the summer. but i will, don't worry.
